Leatherworking projects
About this project
I became interested in leatherworking about a year ago in 2023 and here are the projects I’ve worked on.

Airpods Case
I got my little sister a pair of AirPods for her birthday and I thought it would be cool to make a custom case for her new AirPods. I began by laser-etching a design onto the leather. To match the contour of the AirPods, I soaked the leather to soften it, then molded it around a 3D-printed form with the same dimensions. Once the leather dried, I trimmed the excess, stitched the pieces together, and finished it off with a wax sealant.
Journal Cover
This is a journal cover that I made following a YouTube tutorial. I cut the leather to size and dyed them using a green leather dye to change the natural tan color into a dark forest green. Once the dye dried I stitched everything together, added a button to keep the notebook closed, and finished with a wax sealant.
Wallet
One of the first leatherworking projects I worked on was creating a wallet. I found an online laser cut template and I used the Glowforge on campus to cut all the pieces to size and engrave my name and phone number in case it got lost. Once I had all of the pieces, I stitched them together and finished by burnishing the edges and adding wax.
